Hickory Ridge HS Teams Up To Make NFL Titans Dream Come True For One of Their Own! Meet Ne’Quan: Ne’Quan is a 18-year-old Charlotte teen living with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. He is unable to verbalize his thoughts and words through speech. However, he communicates through his computer that is attached to his wheelchair. He has an incredible support system through the love of his family and the students & staff at Hickory Ridge High School!
Ne’Quan loves country music and wants to be a country music DJ when he grows up! In his spare time he enjoys watching music videos, going to concerts, and watching cooking shows. He also loves football and the Titans!
His sports dream: Ne’Quan’s favorite NFL team is the Tennessee Titans, and his ultimate sports dream was to watch them play at Nissan Stadium in Nashville! On December 6th, Ne’Quan and his family enjoyed sideline passes, thanks to the Titans, before cheering them on as they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars! Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” echoed through the gym at HRHS on Friday, December 4th. Student Ne’Quan Deas thought he was coming in to a typical school pep rally, and was shocked to see his classmates, friends, family, and teachers, gathered and cheering for him! Many were dressed in bright green shirts saying “Dream On, for Ne’Quan!” The shirts were part of one of the fundraisers they had put together to raise money for his Dream. In fact, with several fundraisers including a talent show and a night at Sweet Frog, they were able to raise $8,000 to make his dream come true, incredible!
After learning that his dream of seeing the Tenneesee Titans play in Nashville, Ne’Quan and his family were brought outside where Queen City Party Charters waited with a limo, as well as a VIP police escort from Cabarrus and Mecklenburg County Sherriff’s Departments! Ne’Quans HRHS family release hundreds of balloons as he and his family got ready to get in the limo and head off.
