“My Dream is to meet Cam Newton!”
Until earlier this year, AJ Knox Jr., a 13-year-old from Charlotte, NC was living a childhood similar to most kids his age. He loved playing sports,
especially football, listening to music and playing Xbox. Then, in early spring AJ was involved in a tragic accident that turned his life upside down.
AJ was in a car accident that left him paraplegic and ended fatally for his father. He lost the use of his legs and is now dependent upon a wheelchair. Although this situation has forever altered AJ’s life, his family is thankful he is still able to breathe on his own and has the use of his upper body. In fact, AJ will be the first to tell you,
he has much for which he is grateful.
Before the accident, AJ loved being on a football field. Unfortunately, AJ’s legs will not carry him down the field again, but he will always be a fan of the game. His favorite NFL Team is the Carolina Panthers, and he loves watching as they work their way back to another Super Bowl. His favorite player? Easy, Cam Newton!
AJ looks up to Newton and his endless determination to be his best.
AJ is facing some tremendous medical battles ahead, all while doing his best to cope with the loss of his father.
We hope to show him that he doesn’t have to do it alone and that his biggest dreams are still possible!
