Tee Up for Health Day Dream

Frank Kaminsky, Willy Hernangomez, Marvin Williams, DeAngelo Williams, Thomas Davis, Steve Smith Sr.—these were a few of the local athletes that five lucky Dream On 3 kids spent the evening with on Monday, September 10th at Top Golf in Charlotte. This Day Dream was the perfect example of our One Team philosophy in which 3 Charlotte-area non-profit organizations, Dream On 3, Steve Smith Family Foundation, and the Juvenile Diabetes Western Carolinas Chapter joined forces to reignite faith, love and hope in our community through the magic of sports.

Our Dream recipients, who ranged from age 10-age 15 enjoyed delicious food, hit a lot of golf balls and enjoyed lots of one-on-one face time with current and former Panthers and Hornets. Former Panther’s kicker, Jason Baker was DO3’s assigned athlete, and he spent the evening getting to know these amazing kids and their families and helping them perfect their golf swings. In addition to the fun of the golf and celebrities, this Day Dream also provided time for the parents to connect and share resources about living with a child with Juvenile Diabetes.

Overall, it was a magical deveining in which these Dreamers felt like celebrities surrounded by the magic of sports and the power of multiple community organizations working as One Team.
